DISTRICT MISSION: We build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence.

DISTRICT VISION: District 96 to become a world-class district.

DISTRICT SUCCESS: The impacts of Toastmasters within the province has been prominent such that the district has received recognition from the province and many municipalities year after year with February recognized as Toastmasters month.

With over 3,000 members meeting all across Yukon and half of British Columbia, District 96 is one of the province's chapters of Toastmasters (alongside with District 21 south of the Fraser River). Home to the first club outside of the United States and a history of results in leadership development and communication excellence, District 96 facilitates Toastmasters' growth within its territory within British Columbia and Yukon.

Clubs within District 96 fall within 9 divisions spanning multiple municipalities including Vancouver, Burnaby, Tri-Cities area, Whistler, southern Sunshine Coast, Squamish, Whistler, "everything north of Kamloops in British Columbia” and Whitehorse in the Yukon.

Each Division is typically divided into 4 or 5 Areas. Each Area is typically home to 4 or 5 clubs.

Types of Clubs

The Toastmasters family consists of three types of clubs: Community, Corporate and Advanced clubs.

Community clubs- Community clubs make up the majority of Toastmasters clubs. These clubs are generally casual clubs where Toastmasters gather with a shared mission to become better communicators and leaders.

Corporate clubs- Corporate clubs draw membership from employees of an organization and depending on the charter may be open to non-employees.

Advanced clubs- Advanced clubs are for advanced Toastmasters wishing to meet with other advanced speakers and work on their

Club culture varies between clubs and prospective members are encouraged to visit a club multiple times to get a good grasp of the culture and vibe.
